Summary
A girl attended a project-closing party without drinking and wasn’t drunk, while her friend, a guy she became close with during the project, was very drunk. She asked him if he is okay, and he said he was not. Seeing him in that condition, and other people who have vehicles were not anymore available, she decided to take him home by herself, as they need to go in the same direction anyway. While the girl was riding the motorcycle to the guy’s dorm, he, who was sitting in the back, touched her waist. She was shocked, but after hearing him say sorry, she thought to herself that it was okay, he must be very drunk, and he already said sorry anyway. After arriving at her friend’s dorm, she took him who could barely walk straight to his room. But when they entered the room, he locked the door and tried to have sex with her. He didn’t even look drunk like a few minutes before. The girl told her friend to stop, and he replied, “then don’t give me a signal in the first place. You been seducing me since we were at the party!”. She was very shocked. After that incident, she called her boyfriend at that time and tell him about what happened, but he also blamed the girl for what had happened, saying that she shouldn’t take him back to his place, and thought that she intended to have an affair with her friend. These words made her feel even worse, thinking that she was the one who was wrong, while in fact she just wanted to be a good person and take care of her drunk friend. After being burdened with those blaming words, she later understood that the one that should be ashamed is not her and she’s now able to move on.
The reason we chose this story is that it depicts victim blaming and victim shaming very well. These issues are one of the major problems when it comes to sexual harassment, so we think that we want to address this and raise more awareness about the issue.

This is a collaboration with Praepisut Peechapat and Supakorn Laochuwongse. In this project, I am the main editor and motion graphic artist. I animate this project in Adobe After Effects.
